How To Use The Client Portal

One of our favourite things at our firm is our Client Portal – a system that allows for easy and secure document sharing from you to VR and VR to you!

The client portal is a secure online platform that allows you to upload corporate and personal documents. It will also allow VR to send your draft and final tax returns, financial statements and other confidential information. Whether you need to review documents, securely share files, or sign important forms, the portal simplifies everything while keeping your information safe.

Register for the first time:

1. Check your email, including your spam/junk folder, for a link to register for your CCH iFirm Client Portal from the address vertefeuillerempel@cchifirm.ca with the subject line: “Register for client portal / Inscription au portail”

2. Click the registration link in the email

3. Create a username and password and set up 2-step verification

Log in to the portal:

Once you’ve successfully registered, you can log into your portal at any time using the username and password you created as well as the code that is sent to either your email or phone number.

If there are ever items uploaded by VR, you will receive a separate email notifying you and a link that will take you directly to the portal for you to login. If you need to access the portal at another time or upload a document for us, the easiest way to do that is through our website: vertrempel.com. The button to the portal is located in the top right corner of every page and will take you directly there (make sure to bookmark it for future use!).

If you have access to more than one portal, you can easily switch between portals from the dashboard in the top right corner of the page. No matter what corporation or individual you are looking for, your login credentials will be the same.

Navigating the portal:

The client portal is designed to be intuitive and easy to use. Here’s how you can get around:

1. Dashboard overview: Your profile icon (found in the top left corner) gives you quick access to your personal details and account settings

2. Documents: View, download and upload important documents

3. Signatures: If documents require signatures, you will receive an email notification and with just a few clicks of a button through Docusign, you will be able to sign forms quickly and easily. Once they are completed, they will automatically be returned to VR and kept in your Signed Documents folder

Uploading documents:

One of the key features of the portal is the ability to securely upload and share documents with VR. Follow these steps to upload files:

1. Click on the Documents tab in the portal

2. Select Upload and choose the file(s) you want to share

3. Select or create a folder to upload the files into and click Upload

4. You’ll see confirmation once your documents have been successfully uploaded

5. VR will then automatically be notified by email every time there is a new upload to ensure no documents are missed

If you would like to create additional folders to store your files:

1. Click on the Documents tab in the portal and click the triple dot icon

2. Select Add Folder, enter the folder name and click Save

3. If any documents need to be moved or deleted, let anyone from the VR team know and they will clean that up for you

Prefer visiting us in person? No problem! If you would like to come by the office to drop off paper copies of your corporate or personal tax information, we are always happy to see you.
